The Financial Analyst – Portfolio Management plays a key role in forecasting, valuation, market analysis, and reporting for Fairfield’s funds and joint ventures. You’ll partner closely with portfolio managers, asset managers, and executives to help ensure our investment strategies are well-informed, data-driven, and aligned with performance expectations.
This position is based at our corporate office in San Diego, CA, with in-office attendance required Monday-Thursday and remote work on Friday. With this hybrid setup, applicants must be within commuting distance of our corporate office in the Sorrento Valley area of San Diego, CA.
Build complex models, valuations, and projections
Prepare sensitivity analyses and financial summaries
Conduct market and performance ranking research
Contribute to internal and investor reporting packages
Develop presentation materials for senior leadership
Assist with special reports and analysis as needed
Work with portfolio and asset managers to inform business plans
Coordinate with multiple teams to support decision-making
Assist with special projects requiring financial insight

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required, with a preferred major focus in finance, accounting, or real estate
MBA is a plus, but not required
1+ years of work experience in commercial real estate, financial analysis, accounting, or related fields is strongly preferred; relevant internship experience may be applied toward this requirement
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required (knowledge of macros is a plus), as well as working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
Financial modeling experience is preferred
Complete understanding of basic financial concepts such as IRRs, NPVs, time value of money, etc.
Desire to learn and grow professionally in the commercial real estate industry Outstanding organizational skills and ability to work under pressure to meet multiple deadlines
Experience with Argus and Business Intelligence Software a plus
