The Affordable Housing Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the organization’s affordable housing properties comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including those related to funding sources such as the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, HUD, and other affordable housing programs. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance programs, conducting regular audits, and providing guidance to property management teams to mitigate compliance risks. The Affordable Housing Compliance Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of the organization’s affordable housing operations.
Monitor and interpret relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to affordable housing programs.
Develop, implement, and update compliance policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory changes.
Ensure compliance with LIHTC, HUD, HOME, Section 8, and other affordable housing programs.
Establish and maintain a robust compliance monitoring program, including regular audits and site visits.
Prepare and present clear and concise compliance reports to senior management and relevant regulatory agencies.
Track and report on key compliance metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement.
Lead investigations into alleged violations of affordable housing regulations, policies, and procedures.
Develop and oversee the implementation of corrective actions to address compliance issues.
The Affordable Housing Compliance Manager may be required to work extended hours during peak periods or in response to compliance emergencies.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Public Administration, Urban Planning, or a related field; a professional certification (e.g., Housing Credit Certified Professional - HCCP) is required.
